number of years ago Tram received Smuggler’s Cove: Exotic Cocktails, Rum, and the Cult of Tiki as a gift from friends. It sat dormant on our bookshelf for a few years until my I was invited to a family friend’s Tiki party. Some recent visits to Hale Pele inspired me to try making a drink from the book for the party. I grabbed the ingredients for Planter’s Punch, served ‘em up, and next thing I knew I wanted to make all the drinks in the book.

This all started in the summer of 2023 and I’ve covered most of the low hanging fruit. Below you’ll find my ratings, which I’ll admit can vary based on the exact rum or adjuncts used, but still gives me a good idea of what cocktails I might come back to in the future.
